Introducing Bexford

Bexford started with a genuine interest in watches and, more specifically, what goes into building one.

There’s a big difference between seeing a finished watch and actually putting one together. Once you start choosing movements, dials, hands, cases, bezels, and bracelets, you realize how much each decision changes the final result. A different dial or set of hands can completely change the personality of the same watch.

That process is what got Bexford started.

What We’re Building

Bexford is focused on mechanical watches, custom builds, and the parts that make them possible.

Our watches are assembled by hand using components we choose for each build. We work with proven automatic movements like the TMI NH35A and NH34 GMT and combine them with different cases, dials, hands, bezels, and bracelets.

We’re not trying to make thousands of identical watches.

We’d rather build in smaller quantities, try different combinations, and put together watches that we would actually want to own and wear ourselves.

Some designs may stick around. Others might only be available for a short time before we move on to something different.

More Than Finished Watches

Building watches is also a big part of why we’re making movements and components available through Bexford.

There is something satisfying about starting with a collection of individual parts and ending up with a working mechanical watch on your wrist.

The NH35A is one of the movements we use frequently. It’s simple, dependable, easy to work with, and has earned its reputation in the watch-building community.

For GMT builds, we use the NH34, which adds an independently displayed second time zone through a fourth hand.

We’ll continue adding movements, parts, and other components as Bexford grows.

Why Start a Journal?

There is a lot more to watches than what fits on a product page.

We wanted somewhere to talk about the movements we use, why we choose certain components, how different watches come together, and what we’ve learned while building them.

That’s what this journal is for.

We’ll cover things like the differences between the NH35 and NH34, how automatic movements actually work, GMT watches, watch components, custom builds, and some of the watches we’re working on.

We’ll also share more of the building process instead of only showing the finished product.

Where Bexford Goes From Here

Bexford is still at the beginning, and that’s intentional.

We’re going to keep building watches, adding parts, trying new ideas, and improving things as we go. We’d rather grow the brand naturally than rush to make it look bigger than it is.
